I have no answer for Hanzo and Widow. I started grinding in OW2 mainly playing reaper, but also flexing to Soldier and Echo and I've hit GM with a nearly 80% winrate. However, in all of my games from plat to GM, I could never find an answer to widow or Hanzo, ever. In plat, up until masters, I was able to get away with just playing against.

I think what it comes down to is that all the characters that are good into Widow are pretty complex (Ball, Tracer, Genji, Widow, Assassin Lucio etc) and people on here just want to RP as Mei or Junkrat or Reaper or OTP their favourite hero and are resentful that they might actually need to.

Hanzo just boils my blood, the fact that he can still 1 tap at close range is too annoying also a single body shot doing that much damage is annoying. If the enemy has both widow and hanzo it becomes virtually impossible to dive as a dps, between the hanzo body shots, support cds and more.

It comes down to a few things: 1) flight time - Hanzo's arrows take time to get to a target, Widow's shots are nearly instantaneous, 2) accuracy - Widow's scope allows for her to more reliably get headshots on targets, and 3) 'finish-ability' - you get a body shot on a squishy and bring them to 10% health - Widow can quick.

Widow always beating hanzo would be bad game design and people would whine about the imbalance. Statistically advantage means that if we take 10000 widow players and 10000 hanzo players and make them all do 1v1 against each others we would have more widows winning than hanzos. Hanzos would probly still win considerable amount of the matches tho.
